Pandemic Response
Learn about our approach to protecting our staff and clients in the age of COVID-19.
In response to the COVID 19 Pandemic and various Illinois Executive Orders issued by Governor JB Pritzker, Fifth Street Renaissance staff are working remotely to serve our housing clients and ensure that they are safe, healthy, and continuing progress towards their various, individualized goals. Our programs continue to operate but are being conducted via telephone and minimal, controlled face to face contact. We find it imperative, to the extent possible, to continue serving the most vulnerable members of our community and the state of Illinois.

As general masking requirements lift across the state, we have chosen to prioritize safety by continuing to wear masks. Please understand that due to social distancing practices you are free to drop off donations at our main office (1315 North 5th Street), but you will not be able to enter the building and no one will greet you there. Please leave your donation on the back ramp and call the number listed on the door. Someone will come out to get your donation.
We look forward to gathering soon. Thank you for your continued support, in good health.
If you are in crisis
due to COVID, we
can help!
If you are behind on rent, utility bills, or have lost income due to falling ill with COVID-19, please call (217) 544-5040 extension 11. Leave one message with your name and phone number to join the queue. Our staff will return your call as soon as possible to learn more about your situation. Please do not call multiple times.
If you have tested positive and need to quarantine, we can deliver assistance through the Pandemic Health Navigator Program. This includes distribution of KN95 masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning products. We can also assist with food, telephone bills, and the purchase of medication or essentials. For assistance, contact Marcella Kinkaid at 217-971-0904 or kincaidmarcellafsr@gmail.com.
